The Hauberg family is well-known in the history of Rock Island County. John H. Hauberg was born on the Hauberg homestead northeast of Port Byron in what is now Coe Township. He became active in youth activities, the Blackhawk Hiking Club, The Rock Island County Historical Society, and The Rock Island County Forest Preserve District. At our May 13 meeting, we will have Steve Scott, a cousin twice removed of John H. Hauberg, talk about the Hauberg family and their activities and impact on our area.

Attend the PBHS meeting on Wednesday, May 13, at 7:00pm at the River Valley District Library in Port Byron and learn more about the Haubergs.
