Historical Society
The Port Byron Historical Society will meet on March 11 at 7:00pm at the River Valley District Library in Port Byron.
In February, we heard about the development of our area between the 1776 Declaration of Independence and the 1828 arrival of the first settlers in the Port Byron area.
Our PBHS board member Gary Knapp has also done some research on other activities in that time in our area, and will talk about a native American Indian battle that occurred nearby.
Come to the meeting and learn more about the early history of our area around the Mississippi River.
